PSTTAP/TAGS obtains $930,000 in COPS Hiring Recovery Grant Funding, September 2009.

PSTTAP/TAGS obtains $930,000 in funding for four community-oriented police officer positions in two Maryland police agencies, as part of the highly-competitive COPS Hiring Recovery Program. PSTTAP recently obtained funding for the entry-level salary and benefits of three Laurel (Md.) Police Department officer positions, and one Riverdale Park (Md.) Police Department officer position. These four positions represent one-third of the 12 COPS Hiring Recovery Grant positions funded in Maryland jurisdictions with a population of less than 150,000. Combined, PSTTAP’s two clients received almost 40 percent of the grant funds awarded to all six Maryland jurisdictions with a population of less than 150,000 who received COPS Hiring Recovery Grant funds.
