PSTTAP/TAGS writes $2,100,000 in COPS Technology Grant Funding, September, 2009.
PSTTAP/TAGS writes $2,100,000 in grants awarded as part of the COPS Technology Grant Program. As part of this package of grants, the Greenbelt (Md.) Police Department is receiving $950,000 for its Data Integration, Analysis, Distribution, and Storage (DIADS) and Radio Interoperability Facilitation (RIF) programs. Funding will support the procurement of an integrated computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system, a records management system (RMS), and interoperable radio communication technology. The Calvert County (Md.) Sheriff’s Office is using its $500,000 in COPS Technology funding to support its Data and Image Sharing Project (DISP). The DISP will provide mobile data computers and digital video recorders mobile data computers to deputies in the field. The Laurel (Md.) Police Department is receiving $450,000 in COPS Technology funding to support its Emergency Mobile Command Vehicle Technology (EMCVT) Program, which entails purchasing and outfitting a mobile command unit for use in emergencies and community outreach. The Hyattsville (Md.) Police Department will use its $200,000 in COPS Technology funding to support its Interoperability Facilitation Program (IFP). The IFP involves the purchase of interoperable radio communications technology.
